2015 and a New Set of Seeds
Last updated onIt is now another year and with the garden season coming here in the very near future it is time to start thinking about what to grow. I try to begin each season by looking at what seeds were left from the season before and which ones I need to get right away.
First of all I always grow my spinach early in the season starting in February so these were something I need to get as soon as possible. I get all my seeds at the same time in order to save money on shipping.
I also like to try something new as well when a new season starts and this year I am going to try a unique romaine lettuce that I thought would be a good addition to the garden. It is called Ruby Glow lettuce and has a dark purplish color which might be something interesting to try.
I am also using a different type of celery this season as well which might work out a little better than last season. The Tango Hybrid will be a good way to see if this one tastes or grows better than the Tall Utah that was grown last season.
There are also seeds that I saved from last year which include the heirloom corn that I have been growing for the past few years. I also saved the heirloom muskmelons as well which will be used for growing this seasons melons along with others. Below is a picture of the dried corn seeds.
These are the only changes that I made to this seasons garden and everything else is the same. I am actually thinking about growing potatoes, but I am still not quite sure that I will have enough room for them. I will have to see when the time comes.
