{"id":1176,"date":"2015-09-24T16:02:27","date_gmt":"2015-09-24T20:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/?p=1176"},"modified":"2015-09-24T16:02:27","modified_gmt":"2015-09-24T20:02:27","slug":"broccoli-coming-last-big-harvest-beans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/broccoli-coming-last-big-harvest-beans\/","title":{"rendered":"Broccoli is Coming and Last Big Harvest of Beans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is going to be a short post because there is not much that has happened between today and the last post I wrote.\u00a0 For now many plants are done producing and gardening is coming to a close for the year.<\/p>\n<p>Right now I have finished the last zucchini of the season yesterday and today I picked the last big harvest of beans.\u00a0 Three containers were filled with large pole beans and there were not many left on the vines.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>There are still some plants that refuse to quite and are continuing to produce even though the weather is getting cooler and with much less sun than during the summer.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t think they will produce the same amount that I picked today for the rest of the season, but I am sure that I will get a few more small harvests.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Picture-1-0081.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1177\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Picture-1-0081-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Last Big Harvest of Pole Beans\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Picture-1-0081-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Picture-1-0081.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I also did pick the last zucchini of the year yesterday and it was not as big as the others that were picked during mid-summer.\u00a0 Usually towards the end they are not as big no matter how hard you try.\u00a0 You just can&#8217;t control the weather.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Picture-1-003.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1178\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Picture-1-003-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Last Zucchini of 2015\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Picture-1-003-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Picture-1-003.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the other hand there is good news because cooler weather means my broccoli should be coming real soon.\u00a0 I took a look at some of the more mature and bigger plants and saw that they are beginning to grow broccoli.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Picture-1-032.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1179\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Picture-1-032-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Beginning of Broccoli\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Picture-1-032-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Picture-1-032.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Right now they are still small, but they do grow fast and within a week or two I should be seeing more broccoli growing from my other plants as well as a possible first harvest.\u00a0 Since they are starting to get broccoli I thought it would be wise to supply them with some manure tea.\u00a0 This should give them some nutrients that they need to get healthy broccoli vegetables.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is going to be a short post because there is not much that has happened between today and the last post I wrote.\u00a0 For now many plants are done producing and gardening is coming to a close for the year.
