Up Carrots For Thanksgiving"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has been a while since I wrote my last post, but it has been pretty uneventful in regards to the garden.\u00a0 I have been picking broccoli on a consistent basis usually two to three times per week.\u00a0 At the moment I have been collecting and it seems that the cold weather is starting to get to them because they have stopped producing.<\/p>\n<p>I picked some large heads this season which I am very happy about and also some small ones too.\u00a0 They didn&#8217;t taste bitter which I was a little worried about in the beginning, but in the end they had the exact taste I was looking for.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I decided on taking some pictures of the large heads and compared it to my hand so that you can kind of tell biggest harvest of broccoli that I was able to pick this season.\u00a0 If I could get that every year I would definitely be happy with my broccoli plants.<\/p>\n<p>Today is the day before Thanksgiving and I always like to pick my carrots during this time.\u00a0 I love having the freshest carrots possible for Thursday and the carrots fine being in the cold ground.\u00a0 I find that this is a great way to store them before picking them and I have been doing this for many years with success.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Picture-1-150.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1231\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Picture-1-150-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Digging Up Carrots\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Picture-1-150-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Picture-1-150.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I will admit that this years harvest wasn&#8217;t the greatest, but I did pick enough that I can use for tomorrow.\u00a0 Next year I will have to make certain that they get more nutrients than they did this season.\u00a0 This is very easily fixable.<\/p>\n<p>Right now it looks like the season is over and I look forward to 2016 and what harvests I will get out of them.\u00a0 This season overall was quite good with some large sized peppers, delicious sweet corn, a large mountain of pole beans, and enough tomatoes to make plenty of sauce.<\/p>\n<p>I am actually quite glad how the season came out and I will continue to pick whatever broccoli that I keep getting and that is how I will end 2015.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis
