Planting of Several Fruits and Vegetables"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have a few things to tell you about that has been happening today.\u00a0 First off my spinach is staying outside longer and longer and by tomorrow they will be outside for the entire day and night.\u00a0 This will be a relief because I can soon look forward to finally plant them in the ground.<\/p>\n<p>On another note I have some more seeds starting to sprout and these were the last two that I thought would take a little bit longer to begin with.\u00a0 Three of my watermelons are showing signs of life and the Queen Anne&#8217;s lace has several coming up from the soil.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I want to first talk about the sprouting of the latest seeds in my indoor planting.\u00a0 I starting seeing cracks in the soil a couple of days ago, but I didn&#8217;t think anything of it.\u00a0 I actually thought it would take a little bit longer before I saw watermelon growing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Picture-1-009-1.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1285\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can see from above that the soil is starting to crack and that means watermelon plants should be showing very soon.<\/p>\n<p><a sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There you can see one of my watermelon plants that I had to maneuver in order to get this picture.\u00a0 Finally one of my melon plants are starting to sprout.\u00a0 Later I will discuss two more melons that I decided to plant this season.<\/p>\n<p>I also have some Queen Anne&#8217;s lace coming through and they are not looking that bad.\u00a0 I wasn&#8217;t sure how they would work in these small peat pots.\u00a0 I still have to wait after I thin them out to see exactly how well these pots will work.<\/p>\n<p><a 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now that I have discussed all the sprouting that is taking place since the last pots I thought I would talk about the latest planting of fruits and vegetables indoors.<\/p>\n<p>Today I decided on working on two more melons including cantaloupe and a new one honeydew.\u00a0 I never grew honeydew before, but it is just another melon that will grow the exact same way as my cantaloupe and watermelons.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Picture-1-028.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1290\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1290\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am using peat pots for my melons and the other vegetables that I decided on planting today as well.\u00a0 On the left are my new honeydew seeds and on the right are the cantaloupe.<\/p>\n<p>This is it for fruit planting today and now it is on to the vegetables that were planting this evening.\u00a0 Peppers, cucumbers, and eggplant were placed into three inch peat pots that should work quite well if I grow them correctly.<\/p>\n<p>I placed four cucumber seeds, five eggplant seeds, and six pepper seeds into each pot.\u00a0 I like to make sure that I get at least one plant in each container and then later I can always remove some if needed.\u00a0 I am hoping that using these peat pots most of them will
