Lettuce in the Garden with Some Seed Planting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that the entire garden has been tilled I wanted to get as much into the ground as possible.\u00a0 This includes seeds such as corn and beans that need to be planted before June.\u00a0 I also got most of my flowers into the ground which is another important element of my garden.<\/p>\n<p>I still have plants that I have not had the chance to place in the garden, but most of these are just transplants of fruits and vegetables.\u00a0 I will hope to finish them sometime this week.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The first thing I did was plant my lettuce and most of my flowers in the ground this past Friday.\u00a0 Lettuce was first then my alyssum and dill were planted.\u00a0 Other flowers such as sunflowers, amaranthus, statice, calendula, and cornflowers will be added some time this week in between rows.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Picture-1-019.jpg\"><img sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The second thing I did was setup my bean trellis because this is the hardest thing I have to do in the garden.\u00a0 I have got it down to a science and now it is pretty easy to set up each year.\u00a0 Once I got the trellis up I then went on to plant my bean seeds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Picture-1-049.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1371\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Picture-1-049-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Bean Trellis\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I placed two rows full of bean seeds one on each side of the bean trellis.\u00a0 This should give me at least two full rows of plants.\u00a0 I also used seeds that I had collected from last season.\u00a0 I will see if these heirloom seeds will grow and produce delicious beans.<\/p>\n<p>Once my beans were done I then worked on my corn rows.\u00a0 Again I am using seeds from an ear of corn that I had saved from last year.\u00a0 I probably only used about a half an ear of corn seeds for each row.<\/p>\n<p>This year I am planting all of my corn at the same time because unfortunately I am a little bit late with planting so I will not have time to <a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/planted-corn-carrots-beans\/\">plant then in sections like previous years<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Picture-1-034.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1372\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is how many seeds I used for both of the corn rows above.\u00a0 About half of the ear was used.<\/p>\n<p><a sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now all I have to do is plant my carrot seeds, add my transplants, and flowers to the garden.\u00a0 Once this is finished I can then
