Zucchini of the Season and More Lettuce Picked"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So far I have been picking lettuce both Ruby glow and iceberg, but today I finally got to pick something new for the season.\u00a0 The very first zucchini of 2016 was recorded this morning in my gardening journal.\u00a0 It weighed three pounds and looks to be used within the next couple of days.<\/p>\n<p>I also picked the most amount of leaves this morning from my iceberg lettuce patch.\u00a0 My Ruby glow hybrid looks like it is going to seed very soon.\u00a0 It is not surprising since these plants do not like the heat and it has been very warm for them over the past couple of weeks.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I want to first take a look at the zucchini that was picked today since this is something new for the year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Picture-1-081.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another big one that can be used very easily.\u00a0 It is three pounds of pure zucchini that I can&#8217;t wait to use sometime this week.<\/p>\n<p>My lettuce was another harvest that I accomplished today and was the biggest one in terms of number of leaves.\u00a0 80 leaves came out of this harvest and I am quite sure I will not have many more harvests because of the hot summer weather.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Picture-1-028.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" one vine is not as bad as some think.\u00a0 In fact I think having two is pretty efficient.<\/p>\n<p><a
