First off one steakhouse tomato was ready for picking and was a very large one that weighed one and a half pounds.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I love using these tomatoes mainly for sandwiches and that is really the only way to use them. I suppose they could be used for salads, but I think that is a waste of their large size.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7232.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2042 size-medium\" title=\"Steakhouse Tomato\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7232-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7232-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7232-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7232-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7232-700x467.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I also had a small harvest of about 47 cherry tomatoes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7228.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2046 size-medium\" title=\"Cherry Tomato Harvest\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7228-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7228-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7228-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7228-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7228-700x467.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not only did I pick a large steakhouse tomato and cherry tomatoes, but I had a large straight eight cucumber out in the garden that I have been waiting to pick for quite some time. I had let it sit on the vine to see how large I could get it before picking it. It had stopped growing and that is why I decided on harvesting this cucumber today. This one weighed two and a quarter pounds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7215.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2043 size-medium\" title=\"Large Cucumber\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7215-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7215-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7215-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7215-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/IMG_7215-700x467.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you like beans then you are going to like my next harvest. I picked 11 pounds of pole beans and they will most likely be used for canning. I was hoping they would be ready this week. I still think I will pick them by the end of the week and maybe the weekend will be the perfect time to harvest them. I don\u2019t think they need that much more time to ripen.
