At the meantime I need to get my spring seeds at least started and when it is time to put them outside for hardening purposes I will then get others seeds indoors potted.

This year I bought seven types of lettuce for the season. Last year was not that good of a season for lettuce and I want to make it up by planting as many types of seeds as I can with the room available. The good news is that outside these plants do not take up that much room and makes them a perfect plant for any garden.

Today I planted a few romaine type lettuce seeds which include white Paris, King Crimson, and Vivian. Since these are healthier I decided to grow more of them then the other types. I also planted dynamite which is a type of butterhead.

For loose leaf I planted both black seeded Simpson and burgundy delight. As for iceberg lettuce I stayed with igloo which happens to grow well in my garden. As long as they sprout and grow well this season it should give a good variety of lettuce leaves.

ettuce isn’t the only thing I planted today. I also decided to grow cabbage in the Spring instead of waiting for the fall to get them thriving. Last year I grew a sun king hybrid of broccoli and it worked out quite well and I decided to do the same thing this season. Picking broccoli throughout the year is a great way to maximize your broccoli plants potential.

Brussel sprouts and celery were the last seeds that I planted today. These plants did not work out that well last year and I wanted to make sure that I get a good from them this season. Each seed was planted in three containers that are sitting on the windowsill for now.

Now it is mid march and it is time to get as many seeds into containers as possible starting with springtime crops in the beginning.
