I like tilling the entire garden in one or two days so that I can start planting seeds and transplanting most of my indoor plants outside.  This season has not been typical and has been still too cool to place everything into the garden.  This is good for my cool weather plants that I recently placed in the garden, but I am still trying to harden off all my others before placing them permanently into the ground.<\/p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This past week I planted the last lettuce transplants that I had into the garden near all my other cool weather plants.  They had grown within the containers for quite awhile and had been outside enough that it would survive in the garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I planted plenty of lettuce this season that I should get some kind of harvest this year.  I had several green lettuce plants along with a few red leaf ones that I am looking forward to harvesting.  I also have radishes, peas, potatoes, and Brassica plants thriving in the garden right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/IMG_2658-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Bunch of lettuce plants transplanted into garden.\" class=\"wp-image-2385\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/IMG_2658-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/IMG_2658-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/IMG_2658-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/IMG_2658-700x467.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the weather is still cool my corn can still be planted in these temperatures.  It would be great if temps were a little bit higher, but I don\u2019t want to wait too long to plant my corn seeds into the garden.  Luckily this year I have fast maturing corn varieties that can benefit from a short season if need be.  I planted two rows of corn.  One row had a Kandy corn hybrid and the other had Early Xtra-sweet hybrid.
