Now it is harvest time with several plants that are ripening with many vegetables for hopefully a good continuous harvest. I hope that these plants continue to grow and thrive as long as the weather is good they should produce a good crop for the season. Corn will eventually end much sooner than the rest of my garden, but I am going to enjoy whatever corn is picked. There are some others that are almost ready to pick such as tomatoes and possibly an eggplant real soon. I also have many pepper plants with peppers growing on them and they should start being harvested as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been picking my cucumbers for quite some time now. They were the first few vegetables that I started picking from my summer harvest plants. The vines are still growing and they are still producing sweet delicious fruit as well. With all the cucumbers that I have picked this season it looks like I will have to make some relish out of them or some other type of canning\/storing. It all depends how much more I will be able to pick, but I am hoping there is at least another month worth of harvesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Just<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I have picked the very first batch of zucchinis from each plant ant it looks like they are continuing to produce. Right now they are growing the female flowers and hopefully they will be pollinated sometime in the near future. Picking a second batch of zucchini would definitely be real exciting, but if they happen to no longer grow it wouldn’t be that bad of a harvest this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This past weekend I decided that it was time to pick the very first corn of the season. Right now I have only picked one row of corn because each row has a different type of corn. The one I picked this week were solid yellow kernels instead of a yellow and white mix. The other row is a silver queen variety which will take a little bit more time, but they have silks which means that they might be starting to mature at this moment. I am definitely looking forward to picking the rest of my corn harvest soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
