At this moment I probably have picked every vegetable from the garden except for pumpkins which I picked much later and melons that will also come later in the season. I also started picking the second row of corn which is a all white type of corn. They looked very weird, but were actually quite delicious and didn&#8217;t taste that much different from any other corn I have grown.<\/p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My onions were picked a couple of weeks ago even though I like to pick them in the summer around the month of July. I would say due to the rain we have received this season that they continued to grow through July and partly into August. Once they fall over they are ready to be pulled out of the ground. Since they hadn&#8217;t fell in July I left them in the ground to continue growing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had a pretty good harvest of onions this year compared to last year for obvious reasons. The red onions that I grew were actually much larger this season and I am very pleased with how all my onions came out. Most of them on the plants are a decent size, but nothing large enough that I have picked for the first this year. I have never grown silver queen corn and I was a little hesitant in picking them too early. Just like any other corn they ripen once the kernels release a white substance when you puncture them. I guess I should have planted them a little bit earlier in order to pick them sooner.
