Beginning of Pumpkins and Cucumbers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A busy weekend has gone by and I have some great news about some of my vegetables.\u00a0 Pumpkins have began to come through and are getting bigger every day.\u00a0 They have reached the size of a softball right now, but they will get bigger before they start to turn orange.<\/p>\n<p>Cucumbers are also starting to grow and many of the plants are producing many flowers which will eventually lead to a large harvest.\u00a0 Having them in June is the best time to have them.\u00a0 Although they came a little bit later than last year I still think that I will get a good amount to enjoy for the rest of the season.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I always like to take a picture of my pumpkins because everyday you will notice it getting bigger each day.\u00a0 It is very fascinating to observe it growing.\u00a0 So far I have only found two that have been pollinated, but more of them will come in time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Picture-1-034.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-462\" pumpkins to grow during the season.\u00a0 Once I get a cucumber that has been pollinated it usually takes about two weeks to be fully grown.\u00a0 Many more will grow on the vine making cucumbers a great vegetable for planting in any garden.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Picture-1-117.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-464\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Picture-1-117-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Cucumber #1\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another day full of blueberries has happened again.\u00a0 Three pounds was the total of this short harvest, but there are still more to come.\u00a0 I think I have picked about half of the total amount of blueberries that grew this year.\u00a0 Another couple of weeks and blueberry season will be over.\u00a0 I will have to think about what to do different next year so I get a more bountiful crop.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Picture-1-051.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-467\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Picture-1-051-300x225.jpg\" starting to make its way for consumption.\u00a0 Only a couple of peppers have begun to grow, but almost all my pepper plants have plenty of flowers which means a good number of them will generate sweet peppers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Picture-2-067.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-468\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Picture-2-067-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"First Pepper\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some of my cherry tomatoes are beginning to turn finally.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t take long once they begin to turn red.\u00a0 Only a couple more days will be needed before I get to eat them whole or place them in a fresh salad.<\/p>\n<p><a
