All Three Types of Tomatoes This Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week has been good for tomato harvesting because they are now ripening to their red delicious color.\u00a0 I have planted cherry, Roma, and steakhouse varieties this summer and they have began to start their ripening phase.\u00a0 I only picked one Roma as compared to the others that I collected many of them.<\/p>\n<p>I knew that at one time all my tomatoes will probably start turning red at once instead of periodically.\u00a0 This is good because I love tomatoes and I can never get enough of them during the Winter time.\u00a0 This is when I enjoy them the most because they are organic and come from my own backyard.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>My cherry tomatoes have been very large this season especially from one particular plant that I added to the garden early.\u00a0 I am not complaining because cherry tomatoes are my favorite out of all the others.\u00a0 Below you can see all three types that I collected this week.\u00a0 Two steakhouse, one Roma, and twelve cherry.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-102.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-555\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-102-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Cherry, Roma, Steakhouse Tomatoes\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-102-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-102.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you can see many of my cherry tomatoes are very large and are close to the size of the one Roma that is on the right side.<\/p>\n<p>Some more cherry ones that I collected this week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-090.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-556\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-090-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Cherry Tomatoes\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-090-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-090.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After picking these fruits I then saw a large cucumber that had been growing for a couple of weeks that I thought was good enough to be harvested.\u00a0 This one is the largest one for this season and I am looking forward to getting more of these vegetables in the near future.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-083.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-557\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-083-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"First Large Cucumber\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-083-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-083.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I also have an eggplant that is growing to a large size and is not yet ready at this time.\u00a0 The good news is that my other plants are now beginning to produce their own fruit finally.\u00a0 Here are both of them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-071.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-558\" 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The new eggplant coming in from a different plant.<\/p>\n<p><a 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Pole beans are also doing very well and I plan on picking them tomorrow after all this rain we are getting.\u00a0 Many of them have reached their peak size and some of them are just starting out.\u00a0 This means that I will have many beans to collect probably until the season is over.\u00a0 Check them out for 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My corn is also growing very good and I am looking forward to picking them sometime probably next week.\u00a0 They don&#8217;t look as large as last season, but I think with a little bit more time they will reach their peak.<\/p>\n<p><a 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As far as my pumpkins are doing a few of them are now turning orange or their ripening color.\u00a0 They usually take the longest when it comes to ripening because I probably won&#8217;t pick them until the plant dies which is sometime in September or October just in time for Halloween.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-021.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-562\" sunflower that I have in the garden.\u00a0 The head has finally began to open this week.\u00a0 At its peak it was about eight feet tall from the base to the top of the head.\u00a0 I couldn&#8217;t even reach it when it was this tall.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Picture-1-070.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
