Transplanted and Onions Beginning to Sprout Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some good news on the onion front they have begun to start sprouting this week and I noticed this today.\u00a0 They probably began sprouting earlier in the week, but I didn&#8217;t have a look at them until today.\u00a0 Both the onions in totes and the ones in the garden are both sprouting.<\/p>\n<p>I wasn&#8217;t so sure how long it would take for the ones in the ground to begin growing because it is much different soil than what is in the totes.\u00a0 I am glad that they have started growing at the same time and I can easily compare their growth rates through the summer.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Here check out the pictures below.<\/p>\n<p>This is one of the onions that was planted into the ground.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Picture-1-008.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-787\" href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/onions-better-late-than-never\/\">large grey totes<\/a> I use.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Picture-1-015.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-788\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Picture-1-015-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Onion in Totes Sprouting\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now it is just a matter of time when it comes to onions because they will be growing all the way up to July when its time to pull them out.<\/p>\n<p>Transplanting spinach is what I did this afternoon.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t plant all of my spinach, but I did plant the ones that had sprouted first or were ready by today.\u00a0 If they had two sets of true leaves then I made sure that they went into the ground today.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Picture-1-055.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-789\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Picture-1-055-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"First Spinach Plant in Ground 2015\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once the others get their two sets of leaves then they will be set into the ground as well.\u00a0 I would say by next week all of my spinach plants will be in the ground.\u00a0 This is my target for getting all early plants in.<\/p>\n<p>I also tilled part of the garden for all my spinach plants.\u00a0 The entire garden will
