Tomatoes Transplanted and Bean Trellis Built"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that it is the middle of May and the weather is averaging in the high 60&#8217;s to low 70&#8217;s it is time to start transplanting.\u00a0 I have only done my tomatoes so far and have dug holes for all of the plants that I have growing outside.<\/p>\n<p>I transplanted eight tomatoes today and will do the rest of them over the weekend.\u00a0 I wanted to place the ones that were starting to get root bound into the soil first before they start to get ill and dry out too fast in the hot sun.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The tomatoes that were moved into larger containers I can wait until the weekend to place them in the garden.\u00a0 They have been growing quite well and hopefully I will get a large harvest from all my plants.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Picture-1-030.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-843\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Picture-1-030-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Tomato Transplanted\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Picture-1-030-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Picture-1-030.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yesterday was a good day to place the bean trellis in the garden as well.\u00a0 This is usually a pain but this year it actually went up fairly easily than previous years.\u00a0 Now that I have been doing this for a couple of years it is now much easier to put it up in just about an hour.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Picture-1-002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-844\" src=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Picture-1-002-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Bean Trellis\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Picture-1-002-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Picture-1-002.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I will probably start planting seeds this weekend once I get most of the transplants into the ground.\u00a0 The seeds that I need to plant are corn, beans, and carrots.\u00a0 Some others will be planted as well, but these are the ones that will definitely need to be placed in the ground.<\/p>\n<p>I also needed to start weeding my onions that are in totes as well.\u00a0 Weeds were starting to overwhelm the onion plants and I decided on weeding them today.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ericsorganicgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Picture-1-051.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-848\" totes of onions.\u00a0 I would place more except there has not been much rain which means less grass clippings to use as mulch.\u00a0 I made due with what I had for now.<\/p>\n<p><a
