First Honeydew Harvested

Last updated on

I just picked the first honeydew of the season and it was a pretty good size.  I had a few plants that were planted in the beginning of the season, but they ended up dying and this one was the last of the honeydew plants that survived.

It was about five pounds and was much more bigger than my cantaloupes that are still growing.  I plan on picking more melons including watermelon and cantaloupe.

This is also the first year that I decided on growing a honeydew melon and this being the first I think I got a pretty good size melon.

Although this is the second melon I picked this year I still have plenty of them that need to be harvested.  Once they start disconnecting from the stem I can then pick them.  My watermelons will probably take a little bit longer before I start harvesting them, but I am sure that the time will come much faster than I think.

On a short note I did harvest some more peppers including a couple that were starting to turn red.  I don’t like them to stay on the plant longer than they have to especially when they get a red/purple hew.

As for now these are the fruits and vegetables that I have picked and I am looking forward to picking some more tomatoes, melons, eggplants, and even more zucchinis.
