Transplanting and More Seeds into Rows

Last updated on

The past three days have been quite busy with my plants ready for the ground and seeds that need to be planted as well.  I wanted to get most of my plants in the ground by the weekend and right now I only have a few flowers and a couple squash plants left.

Tomorrow I should finish with all my plants including planting all the seeds needed for a successful garden.  I will be planting some extra seeds of zucchini and pumpkin.

Let’s first start with my second day of planting after adding bean and corn seeds to the garden.  I first wanted to get two rows of carrots planted right away this season.  Last year was awful for carrots and I really didn’t take care of them that well.  That is why I am going to make up for it this year with two rows.

Just a quick note that the row on the right is separated by some feverfew plants about ten feet into the row.  The carrot row then continues to as far back as possible.

Melons were next and I transplanted both watermelon and honeydew.  My cantaloupe plants unfortunately didn’t make it and so I made sure that I planted a row of cantaloupe and a couple seeds of honeydew to make up for lost plants.

Once the plant is accustomed to the soil and it breaks free of the peat pot it will start to flourish and look much healthier.

I then moved on to my cucumbers which I hope to generate as many as I did last season.

Some of my cucumber plants are already getting flowers which is a great sign for hopefully a good season.  I also planted another row of cucumbers because four plants is not enough to save cucumbers for the Winter.

Peppers came after cucumbers and with five of them to transplant I thought this was a good amount of pepper plants.

Once I finished up with my pepper plants I thought that I would plant my queen Anne’s lace.  They have been in small peat pots for quite awhile and I thought it would be a good time to finally plant them in the ground.

They are starting to get flowers and when this happens that is how you know they need to get in the garden right away.  That is exactly what I did.

Now on to day two which was yesterday.  I didn’t get much done yesterday and only transplanted eggplant and a couple of zucchini plants.

Today was day three for the week and I got the most done out of all the other days.  I planted all my tomatoes, corn flowers, and Burpee’s bee and butterfly garden mix.

Let’s start with my tomato plants.

Last, but not least my corn flowers.

Right now I only have a couple of plants left that I will hopefully finis tomorrow.  I also plan on weeding most of my onions because the totes are getting filled with mostly weeds and you can’t even see the onions.
