Planting Seeds of Spinach Indoors Started Today

Last updated on

The season is finally here and it is time to plant as many seeds indoors as possible beginning with spinach.  Spinach is a cold plant and is perfect for starting indoors and bringing them outside on good days during the month of March.

I have been sifting my worm compost this past week because I use quite a bit of it when I start my seed planting indoors.  I also use it during the season as well which is great for any plant especially with tomatoes.

I still have one more tote of worm compost that I have to sift, but for now I will use what I have already filtered and that is what I used for my spinach seeds today.  Soon I will start planting flowers such as alyssum which doesn’t take that long for them to sprout and they can grow in cooler weather as well.

At the moment I have only planted spinach seeds, but in a week or so I will start planting many more seeds and before you know it I will be transplanting them into the garden.  That is a little bit away, but it will be here soon enough.  Right now my spinach seeds are in a cool place underneath fluorescent lights.
