Small Pots Used for Growing More Flowers Indoors
Last updated onNow it is about time to start planting more flowers using small to medium sized pots. I have used large plastic containers for alyssum, dill, and wildflowers. These next flower seeds can be placed into smaller pots for individual growing.
These seeds are going to be placed in a windowsill that gets plenty of sun for them to begin sprouting. By the time they start sprouting the weather should be getting warmer and then I can place them outside for even more sunlight.
Today I went ahead and planted one pot full of wildflower seeds. This particular container was a little bit larger than the others and I figured it would be a good way to test if they can grow in these types of pots.
The others I placed cosmos, calendula, marigolds, amaranthus, and statice for now. I am not growing sunflowers indoors this season and instead will just plant them outside when the cold weather is over.
For cosmos seeds instead of using these green pots I decided on placing them in larger plastic coffee cups. These are taller and not as wide as the green containers. If any plant would grow better in these cups it would be cosmos seeds.
Soon I will start planting a few melons in pots as well as all my tomatoes that I will have in the garden. For now I just want to get all my flowers ready in order to get them in the garden first in terms of transplants.
My Spring crop should be getting started very soon and it usually starts sometime late March to early April. This year they include peas, radish, celery, lettuce, spinach, and onions. Once I can work the soil in the garden I can then begin planting these seeds. For now I am sticking to planting seeds indoors.
