Getting Ready for Transplanting Plants Into the Garden

Last updated on

It is that time of the year when I begin transplanting everything that I have grown indoors into the garden.  Weather has definitely warmed up and a short heat wave came through this week making it the perfect time for placing all my plants outside and soon into the garden.

It only took me two days to till the entire garden which is usually what it takes.  Now I am ready for some transplanting once the weekend comes around.  I also made sure to till around my spring crop because they are still growing.  This includes lettuce, radishes, peas and one spinach plant.

I have started digging some holes for various plants such as tomatoes, melons, pumpkins, zucchinis, and some others.  I will finish digging all the holes needed sometime this week or weekend.

All my plants have been hardened off over the past couple of days so all they need now is to be put into the garden.  I was hoping to get some done today, but unfortunately I ran out of time.  I plan to do some tomorrow and hopefully a few more on Saturday morning if possible.

I also have some more lettuce that needs to be harvested and I should have done that this morning, but I wanted to get all the tilling done today.  I will most likely start picking some more on Saturday or possibly tomorrow.
