Later Planting for Corn and Some Lettuce

By now I would have most if not all of the garden tilled at this time. I like tilling the entire garden in one or two days so that I can start planting seeds and transplanting most of my indoor plants outside. This season has not been typical and has been still too cool to place everything into the garden. This is good for my cool weather plants that I recently placed in the garden, but I am still trying to harden off all my others before placing them permanently into the ground.

Getting Ready for Some More Peppers and Cucumbers

I have been picking mostly cherry tomatoes this entire week since most of them are at the stage of ripening. They usually come rather quickly and are the first tomatoes to be picked and continued to be harvested throughout the season. Today I picked the first steakhouse tomato along with a couple of cucumbers and some broccoli. (more…)

Those Ears of Corn are Now Ripe Enough for Harvesting

That is correct most of my corn is now ready to be picked while others still need just a little bit more time. Today was actually the start of harvests from corn, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Now that most of my blueberries have been picked it is now time to focus on other fruits and vegetables that may be ready for harvesting. (more…)

Melons Appearing and Harvests are to be Made

It looks like many of my fruit and vegetables are starting to appear within the garden and some harvests will have to be done real soon. I have already harvested a zucchini last week and I have a few more in the garden that are just about done. I also have tomatoes that are beginning to turn and some corn that is just about ready for picking. Let’s discuss some of the harvests that I did this past week. (more…)

Soon To Be Harvests of Many Vegetables From the Garden

For the past couple of weeks I have been picking blueberries until the season is over for them. At the moment there are still plenty of berries left even though I have picked over ten pounds of them from this year’s harvests. Soon there will be harvests from my corn, zucchini, tomatoes, and possibly pumpkins and melons. (more…)

Blueberries

Getting a Little Bit More Blueberries From the Second Harvest

With spring crops ending with little left to pick it is time to move on to blueberries and other warmer weather crops. I am using a summer hybrid broccoli that is supposed to be able to withstand the warm hot summer temperatures. I plan on growing and harvesting them all season long making sure that they do not flower or go to seed. (more…)

Blueberry Plants

Getting the Net on the Blueberries and Soon Strawberries

It looks like this might be a long post since I have not written one in quite awhile and I want to keep you up to speed with my garden progress. I have not planted everything into the garden just yet, but I only have a few more seeds and transplants left. I plan on finishing this week, weather permitting of course. Let’s get into what has been going on in my garden. (more…)

Large Harvest Full of Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers, and More

This weekend was a good time to get some more fruits and vegetables from the garden. This Friday it rained pretty well and many of my plants needed it. After a rain is a good time to start picking as much as possible. Luckily I had plenty of vegetables that needed to be harvested and that is what I did between yesterday and today. (more…)
