Flowers Blooming and Spring Plants Coming to Their End

Last updated on

I wanted to give an update to my garden and what has been going on for the past couple of weeks.  So far I have harvested all my spring plants including lettuce, radishes, and snow peas.  My radishes are all done along with my peas, and all that is left is my lettuce for now.

I am happy with this years spring harvest because it lasted a little bit longer than usual.  Cool and rainy weather hung around the entire month of May and most of June as of right now.  I think I can squeeze one more harvest of lettuce from my plants.

Today I decided to pick some more lettuce and the remainder of my snow peas.  It was a cloudy and cool day which is good for picking lettuce and the leaves will stay crisp longer in cool temperatures.

I picked over 200 pea pods this morning before moving on to my lettuce plants.  Not as many lettuce leaves were picked, but I still got a decent amount which I am happy about.

With the cool weather out and about my summer plants are growing, but much slowly than previous years.  When the sun was out last week they were growing quite well.  Now this week has been nothing but clouds and rain with high humidity.

At the moment most of my flowers that were planted in the garden are flowering including alyssum, wildflowers, dill, and much more.  The insects that I need are around and once I get some more sun I am sure many of my other plants will begin to flower and hopefully generate some produce.

Here the wildflowers look quite lovely and they have been attracting butterflies when the sun is out.  Although the butterflies around here love the dill more than anything else.

Just a bunch of alyssum flowers that should bloom for the rest of the season attracting all the insects my garden needs.

These corn flowers have been flowering for quite some time and it looks like they are getting more buds which means many more flowers.
