Peppers are Now Ready Along With Cherry Tomatoes and Pickle Cucumbers

Last updated on

It wasn’t going to be long to start picking peppers since the last post I wrote.  I could have harvested them earlier, but there was no rush to pick any of them prematurely.  Today felt like a good day to do some harvesting of a few of my vegetables.

I only picked two peppers today, but believe me there are plenty on the plants that I will soon be picking many more of them.

This is one of peppers that I happened to pick today and felt was ready to be eaten.  I still have many more, but for now only two of them were picked.

Some more pickle cucumbers were ready today as well and some harvesting was done with them.  I still have some straight eight plants that are still producing cucumbers, but since I planted more pickle cucumber plants I will most likely be harvesting many more of them.

Today was mostly a pickle day and will be picking some more straight eight in the near future.  Here is a look at one of those cucumbers that I plan on picking soon.

I also noticed all my cherry tomato plants had fruit that was ready to pick.  Most of them were hidden and I had to look through each plant in order to find them.  I found about 25 of them and will definitely be added to a salad real soon.

Some more beans were ready today and I was hoping to pick them this weekend, but they were growing real fast and decided that they were ready today.  Three pounds of beans were collected on the second harvest of the season.

I also wanted to mention that my onions had dried enough that I can now bring them in and start using them right away.  As long as you have some warm sunny days they will dry quite fast.  I probably left them out there for about a week.

It looks like one of my watermelon plants is starting to show one fruit as of yesterday.  Between yesterday and today it is getting bigger and that is a sign that it has been pollinated and will soon get a watermelon in the garden.

As you know I have a cantaloupe that has been growing on one of my plants for the past week or so and I just wanted to show the progress of this fruit.
