Transplanted Flowers, Herbs, and Some More Tomatoes

Last updated on

Setting flowers into the garden is best done at the same time that you are planting everything else.  Usually I tend to plant them once I get all the other vegetables and fruits set into the ground.  They will take some time to produce the blooms that you need to attract bees and insects.  The summer is where you should see them flowering and continuous blooms will come.

As previously stated I had some tomatoes grown inside after the first batch had begun sprouting or didn’t sprout.  I have added them into the garden and now I only have just a couple of more left that will soon go out probably by next week at the latest.  I also have a few more flowers that will go into the garden as well. Here are some of the tomatoes as they stand right now.

Adding herbs and flowers into the garden such as dill, calendula, queen anne’s lace, and cosmos is a really simple process.  They don’t take that long to put into the ground and once you do they will surely start to flourish quickly.

I almost forgot about statice.

Now that the majority of flowers are done I can begin to focus more on my plants in the garden.  I still do have some more flowers that need to be transplanted such as cilantro, alyssum, dill, amaranthus, and more calendula.  These flowers are not yet ready to be put into the garden quite right now.  Once I do I will update this blog and let you know.

On a side note I went outside the other day and decided to pick another batch of strawberries.  I said in the previous post that I was going to pick them either Monday or Tuesday if the weather was good.  The weather was quite cloudy so I picked them instead on Wednesday.

It is always good to pick them before a strong rainstorm occurs because they are susceptible to many types of fungus that could render the fruit no good.  I made sure that I searched through all the plants and picked the ones that were ready and ripe.  I was able to collect two pounds this time.
