Warm Weather Arrives – Time for Strawberries

Last updated on

It feels more and more like spring with all the warm weather that should be arriving this entire week.  Since all this warm weather is coming I thought today would be perfect to add all my strawberries into the garden.

I had ordered 25 junebearing strawberries during the Winter and they arrived around early March.  I planted all of them today and I actually had a little bit over 25.

Most of them had started producing leaves, but some didn’t and I am hoping that now they are in the soil all of them will begin to have leaves soon.

Now that my strawberry plants are in the ground I can focus more on lettuce and cool weather plants.

I also wanted to note that I did add three more totes full of onions to the garden as well.  I wasn’t sure if I was going to do this, but I want to make certain that I have enough onions to last most of the Winter if not all.

Now this means I have a total of seven totes with 20 onions each.  If every onion blooms or sprouts I should end up with a maximum of 140 onions.  This should last sometime into the Winter time.
