It looks like I will be harvesting some fruits and vegetables soon in addition to the ones that I have already been picking. So far blueberries, lettuce, and peas have been harvested and most of my Spring crop is all but finished. I have picked a third harvest of blueberries and still more bushes need to be picked. (more…)
I wanted to give an update to my garden and what has been going on for the past couple of weeks. So far I have harvested all my spring plants including lettuce, radishes, and snow peas. My radishes are all done along with my peas, and all that is left is my lettuce for now. (more…)
It was a busy day today with many transplants going into the garden including alyssum, amaranthus, calendula, marigolds, statice, cosmos, queen Anne’s lace, wildflowers, and even corn flowers. I also had a busy day Thursday picking all the lettuce that I could. (more…)

For the past couple of days I have been focusing on getting all my transplants into the garden including peppers, eggplants, cucumbers, pickle cucumbers, and the last of my honeydew melons. I also needed to plant at least one row of carrot seeds. (more…)
It is that time of the year when I begin transplanting everything that I have grown indoors into the garden. Weather has definitely warmed up and a short heat wave came through this week making it the perfect time for placing all my plants outside and soon into the garden. (more…)
Cool season lettuce is the first leaves to be harvested this year. Normally spinach is first, but lettuce is just as good and can be used for many dishes. It is always to have lettuce fresh from the garden for salads because this way you can enjoy the full flavor of your hard work. (more…)
Today was more about transplanting my flowers to the garden. They have been outside for a little bit short of a month and that is plenty of time to be sure that the weather will not affect them from here on till the end of the season. It is pretty much the month of May once this day is over and that means it is time for tilling. This obviously depends on the weather and normally I plan to till the garden in the month of May, but usually not the first day of the month. I won’t be removing all of the plants, but I will be basically eliminate some of them to make room for the strongest in the row. Luckily I don’t have to remove as much because both plants do not need that much room to grow and thrive. (more…)
