Blueberry Plants

Getting the Net on the Blueberries and Soon Strawberries

It looks like this might be a long post since I have not written one in quite awhile and I want to keep you up to speed with my garden progress. I have not planted everything into the garden just yet, but I only have a few more seeds and transplants left. I plan on finishing this week, weather permitting of course. Straw on Strawberries

Getting the Last of the Season Activities Completed for Next Year

I think this season was pretty good especially with plenty of lettuce in the early spring/summer along with some new additions including snow peas as well as radishes. Cherry tomatoes were plentiful as well as Roma tomatoes which led to plenty of sauces and salsas. Now it is time to clean up the garden and place straw on the appropriate plants to protect them through the cold winter. (more…)

Watermelons and the Last of the Season Harvests

I would say about now is pretty much the end of the season and all that I need to do is some cleanup for next year. This week I picked the only two watermelons that I planted and some last cherry tomatoes that are still growing. I also had a few peppers that were perfect for picking. (more…)

Roma Tomato Harvests May Be Stopping Very Soon

I still have Roma tomatoes to pick, but after today I am certain that there is not that many harvests these plants have left. I would say that the best fruit from these plants are done and with the largest harvest to date I would say this is the peak or end of my tomato season. (more…)

Large Harvest Full of Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers, and More

This weekend was a good time to get some more fruits and vegetables from the garden. This Friday it rained pretty well and many of my plants needed it. After a rain is a good time to start picking as much as possible. Luckily I had plenty of vegetables that needed to be harvested and that is what I did between yesterday and today. (more…)
