It has been awhile since the last post and I have been real busy with planting new seeds, making rows, digging up soil, and even began transplanting many plants as well. Let’s get into what has been going on in the garden up until now. (more…)
I think this season was pretty good especially with plenty of lettuce in the early spring/summer along with some new additions including snow peas as well as radishes. Cherry tomatoes were plentiful as well as Roma tomatoes which led to plenty of sauces and salsas. Now it is time to clean up the garden and place straw on the appropriate plants to protect them through the cold winter. (more…)
I would say about now is pretty much the end of the season and all that I need to do is some cleanup for next year. This week I picked the only two watermelons that I planted and some last cherry tomatoes that are still growing. I also had a few peppers that were perfect for picking. (more…)
I just spent about a week inside due to the weather that gave us plenty of wind and rain. I was able to pick what needed to be harvested before the storm, but I had many things that were ready during the end of this week. Today I took the time to pick everything that was ready for harvesting. This will include pumpkins, beans, an eggplant, peppers, and some tomatoes. (more…)

This weekend was a good time to get some more fruits and vegetables from the garden. This Friday it rained pretty well and many of my plants needed it. After a rain is a good time to start picking as much as possible. Luckily I had plenty of vegetables that needed to be harvested and that is what I did between yesterday and today. (more…)
I have just started harvesting a few Romas here and there, but no significantly large harvest just yet. I think within the next couple of weeks I should begin picking many of them at one time and get started on making some delicious sauces out of them. (more…)
I wanted to let you know about a couple of harvests of vegetables I completed today. First off one steakhouse tomato was ready for picking and was a very large one that weighed one and a half pounds. (more…)
Cherry tomatoes came first and now both of my Roma and steakhouse tomatoes are now on their way to a ripening pinkish red color. There are only a few of them changing colors, but soon the rest will follow. With plenty of sunshine they will turn much faster and will be harvested earlier. (more…)
It wasn’t going to be long to start picking peppers since the last post I wrote. I could have harvested them earlier, but there was no rush to pick any of them prematurely. Today felt like a good day to do some harvesting of a few of my vegetables. (more…)
