Melons and Pumpkins Ready for Harvesting

With lower temperatures arriving and less sunlight in the daytime plants are beginning to finish off the season with the last production of fruit. Broccoli, brussel sprouts, and kale will continue through the fall and the rest will be done by the first frost of the season sometime in the near future. Right now I can still harvest some fruits and vegetables such as beans, pumpkins, and some melons that are done growing. (more…)

It Looks Like The Peak of Tomato Season Has Arrived

I have been picking all of my tomatoes for the past month with the cherry tomato plants continuing to produce with flowers and tons of fruit. Last week I had picked over three hundred cherry tomatoes from just one harvest. I thought that was a lot until today when I happened to pick just under 500 of them! The funny thing is that there are still many plants out there with many more cherry tomatoes to pick. (more…)

Soon To Be Harvests of Many Vegetables From the Garden

For the past couple of weeks I have been picking blueberries until the season is over for them. At the moment there are still plenty of berries left even though I have picked over ten pounds of them from this year’s harvests. Soon there will be harvests from my corn, zucchini, tomatoes, and possibly pumpkins and melons. (more…)

Watermelons and the Last of the Season Harvests

I would say about now is pretty much the end of the season and all that I need to do is some cleanup for next year. This week I picked the only two watermelons that I planted and some last cherry tomatoes that are still growing. I also had a few peppers that were perfect for picking. (more…)

Three More Plants Moved Into the Garden This Weekend

I was hoping to get as many plants into the garden as possible today, because there is going to be some rain coming very soon.  I find it is best to get them into the garden quickly so they can adjust quickly to the soil and get some free rain with it as well. (more…)
